In the finale audio settings window I can't select "mbox2 pro", but only "generic asio driver". the amazing outcome is that if I don't let my old soundcard installed and phisically connected, finale 2011 won't even start. Thank you Guillermo, I'm on win 7 64 bits mbox2 drivers are latest release from avid website, I tried even the previous version, but the problems remain. Select "1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy)" and click "Next". Make sure to check the box "Show compatible hardware". Select "Browse my computer for driver software" and select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer". The name will vary from system to system.
Expand the "IEEE 1394 Bus-Hostcontroller" entry and right-click on your "Hostcontroller" entry.
In Windows 7 open up the Device Manager. You can also try switching to the legacy IEEE driver: Make sure you have the proper drivers installed, and make sure they are not a beta version, if they are download and install a previous version of the driver. Either could be that the driver has not been properly installed or updated in the BIOS, an incompatibility issue between your FW card your chipset and the mbox 2.
